Dad agrees to pay rent
As long as it’s less than dorm rent and he doesn’t have to co-sign. Great, cool, fine.
Dad finds out I’m the first one to sign the lease. Not so great, cool, fine.
He now says all my roommates are against me and want me to be their landlord so they can just sublet (wtf, you’ve never even met these people, pops)
He suggests asking my mom to cover for me if I get kicked out on the street, because he’s not going to pay any more than he said he would, regardless of whether or not I become homeless. And if she doesn’t agree, he’s not paying my rent, (even though, he rubs in my face that he could easily afford to pay for it and more).
….See, the thing is that when my parents divorced, he signed an agreement stating that he pays for my room and board and it’s not my mom’s fucking responsibility.
He says it’s not about the money, it’s about principle. What principle? Trying to get me to hate my mom? He couldn’t answer that question.
He called my mom “the bad guy” and then said “if you say her name one more time, I’ll hang up.” I’M NOT THE ONE THAT DRAGGED HER INTO THIS LAST MINUTE, DICKFACE
He now also claims that he doesn’t have to pay for my room and board. Oh, really? There’s a contract you signed that says different.
It’s almost funny that my dad is the kind of person who cares more about the money he needs to pay than the fact that his daughter may be homeless for a period of time. and he keeps telling me how easy if would be for him to pay the fucking rent! even if my roommates walked out. he just doesn’t want to.
